New Cathedral (Catedral Nueva) in Salamanca, Spain Black and White Photo

Inside New Cathedral Salamanca Spain

This picture is from my recent trip to Spain. It's taken inside what is called the New Cathedral located off the Plaza de Anaya in Salamanca Spain. The cathedral is called "new" because back in the 17th century it was built next to an older cathedral they call surprisingly the Old Cathedral. Very neat image. I used a Kodax V505 Wide Angle pocket digital camera to take this. I got the smoothed lines from moving the camera precisely upwards and then inwards as I was taking the picture. It is incredibly difficult to replicate. It took about 7 shots to get it right. This cathedral was one of the mos impressive I visited among that many I saw while I was in Spain, France and Portugal.

If you look in the middle you can see 3 people standing the beaming light.

Texas Bird Photography - Amazing Birds of Texas Collection

Birds of Texas

Sometimes you come across an independent photographer's website, whose photos are breathtaking. Once you stop drolling, the first thought that pops into your mind is that you need to bookmark this resource. But then you realize that that is not enough it will get lost in the chaotic mess of your bookmark collection and will not see the light a day again until you need. So naturally, you need to tell someone else.

Check out: Greg Lavaty Birds of South Texas

I spotted a little yellow bird in my backyard today that I wanted to find out more information about. First what in the world was it!? It was fleeting and a master at the duck and cover. But all day it hung out eating insects and spiders in a persimmon tree content as can be. I think it turned out to be a Yellow Warbler. Unfortunately there are like 100 types of warblers. Greg's site had the best collection I could find. The Texas Parks and Wildlife website is information packed but very cumbersome at times to locate anything, and some better pictures couldn't hurt either. However they have a great list here.

I would love to publish some of the texas bird pictures here, but I think I will ask first about the yellow warbler picture.

Texas Lightning Storm - Its That Time of Year Again for Crazy Weather

Texas Lightning Storm

Spring Lightning Storms Across Texas

Really like how this image above came out. It makes an excellent backgroud and the static lightning in combo with the lights make a nice presentation. This was taken near New Braunfels, Texas on May 2, 2007. I used a 15 sec exposure, 5.6/fs, took the picture and gradually moved it over.

Very interesting clouds, the effect is great in the camera.
